Our mission is to provide our clients with systems to control, manage and drive their business forward. We do this using a combination of custom software, standard applications and reliable hardware. Our track record of successfully serving our customers goes back to 1981.

Where appropriate we will deploy applications on your existing hardware and use and interface to off the shelf software. If required we will both supply and maintain the server and network infrastructure to keep your business working efficiently and serving your customers. A typical Saxon customer has relied on us for “mission critical” services for 10 years or more.

Is this high level of service expensive ? Not necessarily so. We regularly deliver bespoke software solutions costing £2500 or less and while we never sacrifice quality for cost we will always strive to deliver good value for money. Saxon Computing Solutions was founded in 1981 to write applications software for the newly emerging personal computer market. In the early days most of the software was either commissioned by computer manufacturers like Sinclair, Amstrad and Timex or sold through mail order advertisements. Even today we are still amazed to find that there are still people using our software which they bought as much as 15 years ago.

The emergence of the IBM PC and primitive networks changed the way in which software was sold and the process became much more sales and marketing led so we changed our business emphasis and began to concentrate on providing solutions to meet the exact needs of our clients.

Many solutions required accounting components and we selected a highly modifiable system called Sky as the basis for many installations using standard components enhanced by bespoke software. Sky was later, in 1989, taken over by Sage to be their medium/large company accounting solution marketed under the name Sovereign then later as Line 100. Saxon was amongst the first developers in the country authorised by Sage to extend and modify the Line 100 software. We remain an authorised Sage Developer today and are one of the county's most experienced developers of Sage add on solutions.

Saxon are also the country's market leader in systems and software for caravan dealers. At a casual glance one might imagine that car dealer packages would fit this market but, in practice, there are many important differences. Since the mid eighties many of the country's top dealers have used Saxon solutions to control all aspects of their business from customer care through stock control to financial accounting.
